The CSIRO Biotech Imaging team has a proven track record in developing
innovative solutions to practical problems . Our core expertise is in the automated extraction
of quantitative information from complex images. Our solutions provide real benefit
to our clients in such diverse industries as biotechnology, health, infrastructure
monitoring and mineral exploration. Our robust development process is focussed on
delivering commercial solutions. Our group (of 12 mathematicians, statisticians,
computer scientists and engineers) has extensive publications in image analysis.
CSIRO’s Biotech Imaging team is applying a growing portfolio of image analysis technologies
to problems like:
-
measuring and classifying the shapes of nerve cells exposed to drug treatments
-
reliably diagnosing melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer
-
detecting contamination in tablets
-
determining the extent of crack damage in roads and other surfaces.
We are currently developing cellular screening tools for location proteomics, neurobiology
and microbiology. HCA-Vision allows researchers to accurately measure cell changes and improve their understanding of biological systems and processes.
